Fidelisan (the heart of the Northern Sagada villages) will be having the Pakde. For this reason, obaya (sacred day of rest) is declared from February 7-9, 2011. Tourists are not allowed to enter the ili or go to Bomod-ok (Big Falls).
Sagada is an indigenous cultural community. When you visit the area, you are expected to respect the decrees of the dap-ay.

November 29 is a non-working holiday in observance of Bonifacio Day, a Malacanang official said Thursday.
The public holiday actually falls on November 30 but the government’s holiday economics policy pushes its observance as a non-working day to the nearest Monday, said Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte.
Philippine revolution leader and Katipunan founder Andres Bonifacio was born on Nov. 30, 1863.

Malacañang has declared November 16, 2010, a non-working holiday.
It was made through Proclamation Number 60, signed by President Noynoy Aquino in celebration of the Islamic religious holiday Eid’l Adha. Republic Act 9849 stipulates that Eid’l Adha shall be observed as a national holiday in the Philippines.

Caving
Attire

Waste Management
• Do not bring junk food inside the cave
• Carry empty plastic bottles back to the entrance of the cave
• If its your period, skip the cave
• Smoking is not allowed inside the cave
Safety Measures
• Register at the Tourist Information Center
• Do not enter the caves without an accredited local guide
• Do not enter the cave after 5 pm
• Kids below 6 years old are not allowed inside the cave
• Do not bring jewelry, shoulder bags
• Video or still Camera: if not waterproof, bring ZipLock
• Rain gear: umbrella / rain coat (on your way and back)
