To get to Sagada, follow either of these routes:
Manila-Baguio-Sagada
This option is better because you have more options unless you really want to pass by Banaue.
Manila-Banaue-Bontoc-Sagada
Preferably take Cable Tours so you don’t have to worry about the Banaue-Bontoc part of the travel.
To get to the base camp:
Campsite: Lake Danum, Patay, Sagada (view picture)
Registration Fee: P700/P800
The base camp will be along Lake Danum, a small lake found on the Sagada-Besao border and 4 km away from the municipal hall of Sagada, or Besao, for that matter. Those who will be taking the Manila-Baguio-Sagada route may opt to ride on the Lizardo bus going to Besao and ask to be dropped off in Danum. Those who will take the Lizardo bus going to Ambasing, Sagada will have to get down at the town center and then ask a jeepney to bring them to Danum (ask help from the Tourist Information Center at the Municipal Hall).
Those who will take the Manila-Banaue-Bontoc-Sagada route will also have to ride on a jeepney going to Danum from the town center.
Antayan na lang para mas mura ang cost per person papuntang Danum. A picture of a map (not to scale) will be posted on MFPI yahoo groups.
There will be makeshift restrooms, water hosed from the mountain springs and a generator for the speakers in case something has to be announced. The moonlight (almost full moon at that time), camp fires and gas lamps will make the night not so dark.
