All tours in Mission Compound (Cemetery, Calvary Hill, Echo Valley, Underground River) are suspended.

This is based on the online notice posted by a representative of the Social Concerns Committee and Vestry of the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin of Sagada.

Suspension shall take effect on November 1st and 2nd.

AN APPEAL TO ALL GUIDES ASSOCIATIONS

When we posted the suspension of the eco-trail at the Cemetery, Calvary Hill, Echo Valley and Underground, what the Vestry had in mind was to suspend it in any entrance the guides would like to use to bring the tourists to the underground or echo valley so long as they will not pass through the Cemetery. We are posting this clarification because we heard that eco-tours to the underground river and the echo valley is still open but the guides shall be using other entrances aside from the Cemetery.

We hope you understand why the Vestry is suspending the eco-tour to these destinations because of the majority request of our parishioners who want to celebrate solemnity with their departed. If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to submit these at the Parish Office for future consideration. Again, eco-tour to the Cemetery, Calvary Hill, Echo Valley and Underground is suspended starting today (November 1) to 9:00 a.m. tomorrow (November 2).

Thank you and have a blessed day.

Suggestions such as using the Bokong entrance to the Underground River to go to the Hanging Coffins and then backtracking so that tourists won’t go up Baoeng or the Cemetery may be considered next time. As of this All Souls and All Saints Days, the closure shall be observed.
